Is he just parroting the lines that Putin is feeding him? Is he so unaware?
Trump is setting the stage to abandon both Ukraine and the entire western alliance. He and Putin are putting together a "peace plan" that will be a complete betrayal of both Ukraine and Europe. The terms will be unacceptable - Ukraine will lose nearly a third of its land, most of its rare earth mineral rights, there will be no meaningful security guarantees, there will be an "election" to install a pro-Russia puppet in Kyiv, sanctions will be lifted on Russia, new deals will be signed with Gazprom and other Russian energy entities, and for good measure the United States will pull all forces from the Baltics.
Neither Ukraine nor Europe can agree to these terms. So the United States will abandon both and pursue an alliance with Russia. NATO is effectively dead. And the entire post WWII alliance and security system is no more. A new era begins. The US will pull all its forces from Europe. Europe, the UK, and Canada will scramble to build up their militaries and we can count on WWIII beginning in about three years when Russia has rearmed and invades the Baltics. The US will be regarded as an enemy and an ally of imperial Russia.
It's a disaster.

Speaking to Bloomberg on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, which ran from February 14 to 16, Baerbock said the huge defense package "has never been seen in this dimension before."
German daily newspaper Berliner Zeitung reported that Baerbock said the package could be worth some 700 billion euros ($732 billion); however, that figure wasn't in the Bloomberg article cited by the publication at the time of writing.

If the US is pulling out, then Germany will have to go nuclear. And then Poland. And then... I wish Trump weren't moron who has now decided to surround himself with morons.
