Oh whatever. MCPS can't win. They get it right and it was still wrong!

They made the right call. It's only just starting to snow.
Kids from our immersion ES get home well over 3 hours from now, so we shall see.
They get home after 5:15?
Not the PP but yes.
My ES doesn’t walk in the door until 4:25pm from the bus stop at their home school.
Those buses for schools across the county tend to run about 45min later.
Wait, the magnet bus leaves the school at 4:25 when the late elementary school end time is 3:50? Is MCPS providing free aftercare somehow?

Some of them — have you seen the magnet bus routes?
And then those bus drivers have to go park back at the bus depot in rush hour traffic and then drive to their own homes in rush hour traffic.
DC and rush hour with snow has never been a risk worth taking
It’s like people don’t get that there is more to this then actual school closing times.

I kind of agree, they took a gamble and got lucky. Forecasts were showing them to be wrong.

Early closure has nothing to do with a missed day
There was no reason to shorten a day. This affects time available for tests and how much material can be covered in a day.
I’m surprised that MCPS made the right call.
We can say it was the right call when everyone is home without incident or traffic catastrophe at 5pm. They have really put themselves out on a limb here.
