Indeed. Remember the Dr. Dao incident where a passenger on United was dragged off the plane and got quite injured in the process? Many people on here said they'd never fly United again.. and so on. I wonder how many actually kept that promise.
I only boycott one place - Chik Fil-A -- but they are also still owed directly by the family wtih views I don't agree with. Target is listed on NYSE, and is on the S&P 500 so most people on here are probably shareholders through their index funds. Boycotting Target affects... the shareholders.

Both. They actually had a program where they sought out suppliers of color which significantly enhanced those products. As a black woman, it was really helpful to have a larger selection of hair care and body products.

This will be a time to focus on home repairs and shop secondhand.
I want to help the economy as little as possible under Trump.
Where exactly will you be shopping for your materials? Lowes and Home Depot both cut DEI. But I'm sure there's a magical mom and pop hardware store out there for you, right? They wouldn't even HAVE a DEI program (much less every supply you'd need for a home repair).

I try to look closer at their political contributions and it is my understanding that Target leans Democratic in that regard. I always shop Lowes over Hone Depot for that reason too. Any information on which corporations are at least balanced is useful
You research every company you buy something from?
It’s a purchase not a political declaration. For any sane and rational person.
DP Honey, this is a capitalist society with no limit on greed. The most powerful tool you have is your wallet. If you want to support a-holes and bullies, that’s your choice. I choose to support companies with a conscience and values that didn’t make me feel sick.
You do you but your $100 purchase doesn’t mean jack $hit to these companies. Virtue signal away.

Is it Wayfair and IKEA for furniture now? Where should I get household decor?

Get over yourself. All DEI departments are going away.

Per the article I read, Target will “end a program focused on carrying more products from Black- or minority-owned businesses”

What local grocer????

Anonymous wrote:People, you should not be buying throws, pottery or decorative lamps regularly. Once you buy them, the practically last forever. I can't recall the last time I bought any of these items or any other decorative item.
Are you an Utah mom on TikTok?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If they had just stopped carrying some lines because they weren’t selling, I never would have noticed. I’m not the market they seek for black and lgbtq items. Never even noticed them. But three days ago they had a webpage that went on about how they value everyone and yesterday that was gone. THAT’S what drove me away. Changing your company values for the worse is either admitting you never valued everyone, or caving to the worst people by going along with them for acceptance or to avoid being harassed. I have a GIANT program with that. So, Target, have you always been a-holes? Or are you just obeying in advance like a “good german”? Either way, bye.
Yes, never trust greedy capitalists for social good.
