The drama queens have taken over the forum.

How does one refute hyperbolic knee jerk nonsense? Soft Americans have no concept of oppression or the fear actual dictatorships generate. This is the United States of America. We have three branches of government. The president isn’t that powerful. Seek professional help.

DP. Thank you. What gives me a feeling of dread, every time, is reading some of these absolutely nutty posts. That there are actually people out there who are this mentally ill is truly frightening.

The maga movement has only been gaining more traction. Their ability to deflect and make excuses is astonishing. I think maybe we need this period of letting the GOP control it all. Starting tomorrow, there is nobody to blame, nobody to deflect to. We are going to hit rock bottom, and I think that’s the only hope we have that enough people will face the reality of where the GOP priorities truly lie.

This.
The next four years will be objectively terrible. But hopefully the boil of MAGA will explode and the poison will drain out.

The last four years were objectively terrible with the massive inflation and open border. Trump returning to office gives many of us hope that the country can again be set on the right track.

No it wasn’t.
Unemployment at all time lows.
GDP growth averaged 3% a year.
Strong stock market.
Our economy and Covid recovery is the envy of the world.

They thrive on drama and outrage. That is all.

That this sentence was uttered without a hint of irony by a MAGA cult member

No, just orange man. I was fine was fine with the other republicans. Now there is only maga

Oh please. I’m old enough to remember Bush slandered as a war criminal and Romney raked over coals and labeled a fascist pig.

It’s never just about one candidate.

Yep. And these people will deny they ever called Bush or Romney those names - until they're blue in the face. Luckily, we have the interwebs to remind them.

So... how about we focus on finding a real presidential nominee that will squash anything MAGA has to offer and we'll together put the disastrous Trump/Biden years behind us? Do you want to be part of the solution or part of the whiny partisan crowd?

Newsome/whitmer ticket. But won’t happen because they’re both white.

If the dems want to win, they’re not going to run the governor of California. They need to run a moderate.

Is newsom not moderate? He’s not a woke progressive and that’s what matters.

Besides, DJT is at extremist as they come. I don’t think voters are necessarily looking for moderate. Or that they even vote for what they say they’re looking for. In the end, someone who can win the information war is who wins the election. And I have a feeling newsom can fight dirty.

He is the definition of a woke progressive.

If you think voters aren’t looking for moderate, enjoy a continued political wilderness. They absolutely are and what you aren’t understanding is that that shows you how bad an impression Biden Harris had made on the electorate.

Trump is not a moderate and he still won. They need someone who can inspire enough democrats to vote, that is the only criteria.

Russia Russia Russia!

When have I heard that before?

Shouldn’t you have some silly-hat-wearing resistance parade to get to?

Surprised they didn't dust off their hats and #resist this time.

Nah, we'll just sit back and watch you lose your shirt and your maga hats to what the GOP has in store for you. It's gonna be beautiful, believe me.

The current nightmare is being extended to 2029 with yet another elderly unfit president who also has zero integrity. Not cool. Do better America!

American voters are all fruitcakes!!

Move?

You haven’t seen the hundreds of weekly posts from the person who says both republicans and democrats suck and all
American voters suck?

They repeat that sentiment in various forms multiple times per thread. They also never say who they think would make a good president and how they would reform or improve anything. It’s really weird. Calling Americans “fruitcakes” because they exercise their right to vote is a new one.

+1
That poster you refer to usually calls all American "idiots." "Fruitcakes" is a new one. Report that person who has turned into one of the most annoying trolls on this forum.

Exactly. A "feeling of pending dread"? How many hundreds of threads have been posted about exactly the same melodrama over the last eight years? Good grief. The sky is *always* falling among some of these people.

Nah. Only the current crop. The last 20 years have changed Republicans to a$$hole fascists.
