I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Target and Ikea! Walking their aisles—even if I buy nothing—always soothes me.

Delivery pizza is another one. Sometimes I want DOC Neapolitan with flawless simplicity. Sometimes I want the overloaded, sugary, gooey food bombs I was raised on. To everything there is a season, a time for Dominos.

This is all pretty basic stuff, not low brow. Dominos has pretty bad pizza in my opinion but if people like it they buy it. Nothing low brow about it.

Oh, and IKEA!! My Swedish au pair used to take my kids there for lunch. That Diem cake is addictive.

Aldi and Lidl are a game to me. Drives my husband crazy, but I love searching for the best price, even if it means going to multiple places.

My kids have stayed at stately homes with amazing meals cooked to order and they still only talk about the Hampton Inn breakfasts and pool.

Dollar Tree has great art supplies.

I use jarritos as a mixer too!

Also - Olive Garden is, and will always be, our family favorite. I've been in there sometimes twice in one week. During Covid, we were doing pick up on the regular. I've even written "To Whom It May Concern" letters to them to complain about stuff lol! My personal favorite is ordering the special alfredo dipping sauce for the breadsticks in lieu of the marinara, and then for my entree getting eggplant parm and swap the spaghetti with red sauce for fettucini alfredo. Heaven! Also - i have had two separate servers SWEAR to me that their eggplant parm is cooked fresh in house daily, and does not come frozen (as I had always assumed). Apparently they salt and dehydrate a ton of eggplant slices in the kitchen every day! I've eaten in some of the best italian restaurants in the world, and OG gives them a run for their money.

I love Mentos, the Freshmaker. Both the original mint flavor and the cinnamon flavor.

I also love Twizzlers, and the Wallaby licorice in the cinnamon flavor.

I was so excited to get a Subway sandwich and Bbq chips the other day!

I also much prefer Champion lowcut socks to Bombas

I had Jack in the Box tacos and curly fries last week and it lit up my world as much as it did 25 years ago, after drinking too much in Tijuana. Perfect junk fast food sent from the gods.
