Clinton is a better analog. Clinton was pure trash, top to bottom, who was inexplicably popular only because he pandered to his base's every irrational desire.
Bill Clinton?
He presided over the best economy in the last 50 years and other than a blow job, was probably the best president in anyone reading this lifetime.
Ok? Trump has been the best president by far this century. Two can play at that game.
Except only MAGA cultists feel that way. Not historians, or anyone familiar with facts and history

It will...hope we don't have another pandemic!
Anonymous wrote:This one is different, even from Trump's first term. We are in real danger, imho. His picks for DOJ and DNI show us that he is serious about retribution. Gabbard cannot be trusted with our nation's secrets. She is an Assad & Putin sympathizer, as is Trump. His cabinet appointments can do real damage. RFK says that he wants a pause on all NIH's disease research. Don't even get me started on unflouridating the water or what he may or may not do with vaccines. The DOD pick is just completely unquailified to serve, and that is a best case. He is appointing unserious people for serious positions that can do so much damage. Calling this cabinet clowns is an insult to clowns.
I am so concerned with what he is going to do with our foreign policy. Even if he doesn't manage to pull us out of NATO, how will our allies ever trust us again? Even if a Dem is elected in 2028, why would they trust us again when they see that the American people just re-elected the most corrupt, evil person to be our president. He is going to abandon Ukraine to Putin. Putin may not invade Poland during Trump's term but he certainly will when a Dem gets elected and then it will be the Dem's fault that Putin invaded.
If he puts his tariff plan in place he is going to wreck the economy. I think the business community may be able to stop him there. He is going to pardon all of the people currently in jail for their actions on J6. Sure 6 people died and 140 injured but it was a "day of love."
I may live in my navy blue bubble here in NW DC but this country is profoundly stupid. (Yes, I understand that most of the country felt like Kamala felt that way about them and that's why Trump won. She wasn't wrong.)

Being “sad, angry, and depressed” because your favored candidate didn’t win is a disproportionate reaction. Just move on. You’ll be fine
Maybe? Biden and Obama weren’t convicted felons.
I’m not outraged by his “felony” sorry.
+ 1,000,000
Everyone knows his “felonies” are a joke. Basically an accounting error that resulted in 30 trumped up felony charges by far left attornies. An absolute complete joke. After I heard those 30 guilties I sent Trump my first ever political donation. I went from barely on the fence tolerating him because of policy to an active supporter because it was so obviously corrupt. The “felonies” didn’t work for y’all the way you thought they would but you never ever learn. The word “Felon” and his mugshot are now iconic for Trump and raised him a ton of money.
Yet he was found guilty by a jury of his peers, who were vetted by his attorneys for any anti-Trump bias.
Meanwhile he had classified documents in the bathroom but had the good fortune to get a judge he himself had appointed. A judge who delayed, delayed and delayed before finally dismissing the case because she claimed the special counsel's appointment was invalid (something she could have done right off the bat - but that would given the appeals court time to intervene).
One of these was the justice system working as designed. The other was a joke. You tell me which was which.
He wasn’t going to get a fair trial in deep blue New York on Trumped up fake charges. His felony is a big fat joke that backfired big time.
Don’t even get into the classified Documents situation , Biden had classified documents stored in his GARAGE next to his car and skated because the judge essentially called out his dementia (even though when he took them he wasn’t suffering from Dementia and wasn’t even President , he was VP!) Neither one of them should have had classified documents in their homes but the difference in the way the two Presidents were treated is scandalous and terrifying double standard. Again, only made Trump stronger.

You mean like democrats are doing now?

I’m a fed and my husband works in biotech and our child has an IEP so I fully expect this administration to affect us day-to-day if things continue on the current planned trajectory.

I am sick thinking about what this term will bring. Truer words were never spoken. MAGA has an alternate reality where everything is upside down.
Every single thing they accuse dems of, they are doing. Then some.

Rewriting history much? Bill Clinton was/is widely considered the most popular president of the last generation. You may not like his Monica drama/lie, but he was very dominant as a politician.

I think it's time for you to decide if you need to be this emotionally invested in politics. The super invested are like soccer hooligans to most people. It's fun to a point but it's weird. Find something else to love.
+100. This is excellent advice and people really should take it to heart. Politics is not a sport nor should it really even be a hobby.
It’s all fun and games until your same-sex marriage is dissolved. Or you need reproductive care that’s denied. Or crops fail due to extreme heat waves. Federal policies have real world consequences.
Correct. And the country just told the Democratic Party that it’s policies are bad for our safety, health, pocketbook… basically everything. And now trump is bringing in people to turn over the rotting apple cart marriage of the Deep state and special interests. It’s awesome. So glad. And I’m a federal employee who witnesses the waste first hand every day. Cannot wait. No more political friends making a fortune selling DEI training to the government. No more FDA employees revolving door into big pharma and into feed additives. No more revolving door of defense contractors into DoD policy positions. No more hand outs to environmental start ups while ignoring real things that work that can help the environment. NO MORE buying votes via student loan hand outs. Your team is OUT!
Can't wait to see what MAGA has in store. Better resolve all of these.
I don’t know if they will succeed but I know they will try. More than can be said for the democrats. They are just grifters who lecture Americans and tell us we are dumb and then raise our taxes. When we complain we are called Hitler and they try to buy us off using the taxes we paid. They tell us we are hateful for questioning whether a clearly senile man should run again. They tell us “he has a stutter!!” and expect us to believe that is why he is falling apart before our eyes. We are just supposed to be ok with a horrific end to Afghanistan. And we are supposed to be ok with Zelenskyy getting billions in support every 6 months with no plan for how to wrap it up. And we should be good with deteriorating public schools but dammit we can’t question teachers because they are at the right hand of the Father. ENOUGH! We have had it with democrats lecturing us and telling us what’s good for us. We are 1000% ready to try something new because you are not new. You are selling the same old crap that has never worked.
