We have very little control over the outcome and things like canvassing only soothe your anxiety. They don’t actually do much.
Could not agree more. Everyone on DCUM with their panties in a wad about this when it doesn’t matter one bit. VA and MD are going for Harris whether you vote or not. But go on berating your husband for not canvassing.
Believe it or not most people in swing states are not obsessed about this. Politics is a passing conversation not people’s lives. Ironic because our votes might actually decide the election.
The amount of canvassing, non-stop ads, constant candidate visits in my swing state is so insane that everybody is sick of it all. Everyone has already picked their candidates anyway. I do think we’ll swing red this time, though.

For example a woman in a red state with draconian abortion laws will vote Trump because if she is a woman with financial means she knows that she can find a WAY to have an abortion for her daughter should she needs. So this woman does not care about another woman with less means who will be have no choice but to carry that child. Sadly we as a people think about ourselves a lot and only ourselves.
Yes, I am a woman with financial means, but I would never spend a dime so my daughter could have an abortion. I believe in the sanctity of human life in all cases.

Do you drama queens truly not understand this?
You left out “because we have a democratic system.”
One option in this election will be infringing on many people’s rights, including the right to fair and open elections. That’s pretty bad.
Can you link where Trump has said he is against fair and open elections? Because this I haven’t heard.
Seriously? J6 and fake electors and refusal to have a peaceful transition of power ring a bell? At a recent rally he said if you vote for him this time, you'll never have to worry about voting again.
A bunch of fear mongering.
NP here: it was an attempted coup by a bunch of un-American traitors who hate freedom.
It sickens me to see Trump voters try to wrap themselves in the flag, patriotism, and the Constitution. They deserve none of that because they already forfeited it on January 6.

Anonymous wrote:I’m extremely concerned about the election. I think trump is a petulant vengeful baby who brings out the worst and appeals to the worst in humanity and cannot believe he is on the ticket (have voted both ways in the past but trump to me is next level insane). Trying to get dh to do canvassing/ phone banking but he doesn’t want to and is not concerned bc ‘it’s fine’ and ‘Kamala will win’. Clearly the polls do not clearly show this and to me his disinterest is personal - so many more women and babies have died since roe reversed. I just feel like he is a weenie not to be as fired up as I am or at least in the ballpark of it. Anyone else?
Anonymous wrote:Nope: crime is down, not up. The other two issues were exacerbated by Trump era policies that we are still dealing with.
How can people spout this nonsense.
