Voting for the candidate endorsed by the group that wanted to keep schools closed indefinitely is not an attractive idea.
You’re already wrong bc MCEA never wanted schools closed indefinitely. Educate yourself, because you’re just embarrassing yourself. At best, you’re proving your own ignorance. Worst? You’re straight up a liar.
You've got a short attention span. They were mad when schools partially opened in the spring of 2021, and they were mad when schools remained open in January 2022.
And you want to put them on the BoE. That's nuts.
DP. I don't understand having this hatred towards teachers. These are the same people leading classrooms your kids are in every day, if you have kids.
The issue isn't teachers-- it is MCEA. The union is behind Zimmerman, not rank-and-file teachers. Just like the union was behind school closures and the opposition to special educator recruitment incentives, not the teachers. MCEA shouldn't be anywhere near the board.

A vote for Diaz is a vote for hate and children dying ie polio and small pox and stupidity

DP and here you are trying to say you want to put a teacher who never bothered to show up to actually teach… you’re the one who is nuts.

She's not going to vote to close schools or add early release days.

Wow, no religion barred masking or the Covid vaccine. And, God had no place in public schools.
The First Amendment guarantees a place for God in schools. You are practicing the exact form of discrimination Diaz complained about.
She’s isn’t very smart and can’t write a coherent essay, but who in the BOE or MCPS admin is?z
She is correct that coercive measures to mandate everyone inject a new vaccine is wrong. Remember thalidomide? Why is it progressive to hate on Big Pharma for everything except vaccine mandates?
And masks are terrible in school, and everyone knows it. If school is so unsafe that everyone needs a mask while having conversations in class, the class shouldn’t be in-person.
dp.. there are currently vaccine mandates for kids to go to public schools. Where was your outrage before covid over this?
FWIW, I was a bit suspect over DC who was 12 at the time getting the covid vax because I felt they did not do enough research on prepubescent girls and how the vax would impact their growth and hormones. DC did eventually get it.
Just so we're all having the same conversation, there is not and there has never been a vaccine mandate for children to get the covid shot. It's not on the list of mandatory vaccines.
MCPS had a ridiculous vaccine mandate for kids who wanted to play sports. My DC never got it, but I know quite a few families who reluctantly either got the Covid shot for their kids unnecessarily because of the ridiculous MCPS vaccine mandate for sports.
They need to enforce a vaccine mandate to be in school. Allowing a public health crisis to fester is terrible.
Are there still people in 2024 who believe: 1) the Covid vaccine prevents Covid; 2) kids and teenagers are at risk from Covid; and 3) the benefits from a slightly less intense cold outweigh the risk of heart damage in teenagers?
A vote for Natalie Zimmerman is also a vote against vaccine misinformation! Win-win.
LOL
If elected, you will never hear from her.

The Covid vaccine did not prevent infection.
Requiring kids to get a Covid vaccine for any reason was REALLY bad public health policy. And was not backed by science at all.
