I am also in the same situation with Foxhall/ Dr. Green. TBH I was more than happy to pay OON costs to ensure I would see the same person throughout and am having a hard time finding another practice that offers the same "concierge" service.

I did come across this article re: Sibley and a Women's Center generally from 2022. Maybe Foxhall found it would be more lucrative to pivot to GYN at Sibley since these are the types of services they're switching to? https://www.washingtonpost.com/magazine/2022/09/07/womens-center-sibley-hospital/

I did ask one of the non- partner (non-owner) OB's if there was a lawsuit that made their insurance prohibitively high after a certain date and she said no. It sounds like most of the docs that were still doing OB were non-partners, and it was a partner doc decision to stop since a majority were no longer interested in doing OB. The non-partner doc even mentioned she found out about the change in a very similar manner to the patents with a letter and not much time to figure out a change

Insurance was too high. Heard from a neonatalogist friend who knows Foxhall docs. Apparently malpractice insurance rates are basically the same (insanely high $$$) whether your practice is delivering 1 baby or 1,000 babies so it’s only affordable if a practice can keep up with really high volume. As OBs get older and want to slow down, even if it means they don’t want to stop entirely, the whole thing becomes financially unsustainable because they don’t have enough economy of scale. Apparently malpractice insurance rates are particularly high in DC, too. I guess it was either switch to GYN only or merge with a bigger practice like CWC and they decided they didn’t want to merge.

They probably are. With only four doctors I can’t imagine they have enough to be on call at the hospital and for urgent calls. Sounds like they are just billing as a telehealth visit?

Unrelated but Foxhall now charges patients when they call the weekend answering service. WTF? Did anyone know about this?

Abraham left this week. Bren is gone.
Abraham is on Instagram and says she will post info there.
drtaraabrahamunderwood

I talked with an admin there today and she said over 50s are ok and there "is a plan" so no one is left hanging.

Not great.

They finally updated the main photo on their website. Kind of crazy they went from like 12 doctors to 4.

Website was updated to only show Beckerman, Green, Lightfoote, and Pardo. Any word on whether they are also leaving?

Pardo hasn't done OB in a few years now so I imagine she will stay...I hope so! She is awesome.

It looks like she's at Inova Fairfax now. https://www.inova.org/doctors/shawn-s-davis-wilensky-md

She left last December right after I had my last baby, I was so thankful to have had her for all my pregnancy care!

I think she’s specifically working with cancer patients now, but if I’m wrong someone please share!
