I think FCPS just is big physically and population wise which amps up the numbers . There are over 12,000 teachers in FCPS. It’s a straight up numbers game and it can happen anywhere. Every single staff member is background checked. The schools are also massive so it’s easier to fall under the radar.

On October 11, Scalea was arrested and charged with Obscene Sexual Display and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Scalea was placed on administrative leave and has been an instructional assistant with Fairfax County Public Schools since 2020. He is currently being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

FCPS should take a scrutiny on the staff recruiting and training process.

He had no prior history, the Langley CS teacher and football coach also had no prior history. So there must be something wrong with with FCPS , or more specifically, Langley High? What made these two good men conduct shameful deeds after they become FCPS staff?
