This is exactly the MO of the Republican Party who has very successfully infiltrated local governments and school boards. Get ready for more book ban attempts, anti immigrant sentiment, and developer / corporate driven agendas that screw over middle class and working class people just like the “attainable housing strategies”.

Ever wonder why you “believe in term limits”? I am sure you are a completely original thinker /s

I don't like Elrich, but he was one of the only things making it harder to upzone and bulldoze your neighborhoods. The developers snuck this in there to try to make it sound like a good thing. In reality MoCo basically just voted to remove Elrich so they now have the greenight to upzone and demolish all of the SFH in your neighborhood. Have fun with multiplex housing and apartment complexes next your home. You feel for a dirty trick.
Yeah, that's why I voted against it too. I live in a sfh on the "poor" side of MoCo so now we're screwed.

This was advanced by a Republican. Not only will our neighborhoods be bulldozed but get ready for the Republican agenda to start taking hold. You want books banned in libraries, no reason police stops for black and brown people, and the other things things MAGA is pushing? Well, you opened the door and let the Trojan horse on in. Dummies.
It was supported, quietly but persistently, by progressive politicals who were tired of Elrich stepping in with common sense arguments against their agenda. There aren't enough R's in the county for it to have passed without that.

Anonymous wrote:I had mixed feelings about this question. I think Elrich is about as good as we will have, especially because he is not in the pocket of developers. So I would have liked a third term for him, and I think the timing of this ballot initiative is pretty suspect and is being driven by the people who want to destroy single-family zoning. But as a general matter, I think two terms is enough, so I voted for the measure.
