This seems about right. Kids run the gamut - but the overall vibe is upper Northwest parents - house rich, lots of lawyers, lobbyists, plenty of politics-adjacent/non-profit/think tank/media workers to political employees. Plenty of wealth, lots of financial security, but not ostentatious about it.
I doubt this entirely. Those folks let their kids roll through metal detectors each day?
Hi. Our HHI is around $575k, and we have family money on both sides, so not really wealthy but definitely financially secure. We have no issue with our kids going through metal detectors.
Wow. If that is "not really wealthy" to you, I am having a hard time imagining what would be.
Yeah, we make/have more than I ever expected. Also, the family money was a surprise on both sides. But since my kid started attending a LAC and met with some kids who arrive every fall by private jet, our perspective has changed, hence me saying we’re not really wealthy. Our son, who used to love expensive clothes and shoes, has also started refusing to pay more than about $10 for any article of clothing and dresses himself exclusively from thrift stores.
