That’s probably right. The only issue I can maybe see if dividing up expenses (not income) — I think they each have too much pride to want a cut of each other’s income but Ben may feel some irritation at taking an equal share in losses/expenses for things that he affirmatively didn’t want, like the documentary and the showy wedding and maybe the house. Especially if all that showy stuff was the reason for the breakup. I could see there being some negotiation about how to handle things like that. Hopefully they’ll have a good mediator. Even though she filed pro se they must have lawyers behind the scenes — even an “easy” divorce will be complicated with tax inpolicatikns. They must have tons in capital gains and maybe issues with deemed ownership over companies under IRS control group regs etc etc. I don’t think it’s like a “you take the car, I take the dog and microwave” divorce for the normals.

He knew ahead of time she purposely seek tabloid attention to stay relevant. He even talked about it before marriage. He knew what he was getting into with the relationship. She seems happy most of the time, he does not.

I think the end was when he was at the Grammys (?) and looked bored and she chastised him when a picture was being taken.

Sad they held a candle for each other for so many years and couldn’t make it work.

They are trying to act like a normal family while sending daughter to college like parents should. Also a good public impression. Why wouldn't Garner help her children's dad earn
more for children's inheritance?

Garner was a rebound from Jennifer Lope. They met in late 2003 on the set of Daredevil right after Ben dumped Jennifer Lopez and although some say Ben and Lopez were working things out/still together but just no longer engaged at this juncture.

Garner left her Alias co star Vartan for Affleck in 2004, got pregnant with Violet in early 2005, married Ben in mid-2005, Violet is born early December.

There are even some that say Violet is vartan’s daughter but I don’t believe this.

The point is all 3 have a history of rebounds and cheating especially Affleck and Jennifer Lopez who also met Affleck on the set of Gigli in December 2001 when she was a newlywed married Sept 29, 2001 to her backup dancer Cris Judd. Cris was given a nice divorce settlement to go away silently in May 2002. Lopez and Affleck went public the same week

She filed without lawyers so clearly there is an understanding between two to not make it about money.
