Active problem...was.
Why are the democrats always the ones required to bend? Trump is a disaster. He was in the first terms and he would be worse in a second term, yet the GOP makes no move to the middle, makes no move to compromise. Why doesn't the GOP nominate Hogan or Romney? Yet you all expect the Dems to nominate Hogan or Romney.
Really?

There is a lot of room in the democratic tent for people who are pro-choice and don't want crazy running the country.
I would argue that Biden is much closer to Reagan than most of the current GOP.
What about a pro life democrat. Is there room for them?
I'm certain some dems are pro-life but just aren't into forcing their values on others like the MAGAs.

It’s very bizarre that this is the only issue that is a litmus test for a party who’s mission statement during its best years (the FDR to LBJ years) was protecting the working class.
Why should abortion matter to a party like this over being pro Union, for example?

Oh come now, other people are always claiming that Republicans are, socially at least, just the Democrats of 20-40 years ago.

Maybe on economics the Ds used to be more progressive, but on anything else I'd hard disagree. And the Rs haven't moved to the right on economics or social issues at all. On social issues they just haven't moved as far left and on economic issues there's virtually no distance between the two parties (except the Rs want to recklessly lower taxes all the time for no good reason).

Except he didn't lead like Reagan.

I love his quote “However, since becoming a United States Senator in 2010, I have seen both the Democrat and Republican parties leave West Virginia and our country behind for partisan extremism while jeopardizing our democracy. Today, our national politics are broken and neither party is willing to compromise to find common ground. To stay true to myself and remain committed to put country before party, I have decided to register as an independent with no party affiliation and continue to fight for America’s sensible majority.”
I feel like this is the majority of Americans today.

I dislike him personally but his policies will be much better for the US right now.
Biden/Harris has been a disaster in so many ways.
