Why are the democrats always the ones required to bend? Trump is a disaster. He was in the first terms and he would be worse in a second term, yet the GOP makes no move to the middle, makes no move to compromise. Why doesn't the GOP nominate Hogan or Romney? Yet you all expect the Dems to nominate Hogan or Romney.

The country’s a right leaning country and the Dems should want to win elections. Obama, by today’s Dem standards, is center right.

It’s very bizarre that this is the only issue that is a litmus test for a party who’s mission statement during its best years (the FDR to LBJ years) was protecting the working class.

Why should abortion matter to a party like this over being pro Union, for example?

It shouldn't, but when progressives try to assert that it is not a good idea for the party to accommodate right leaning voters, they get called extremists, party toers, etc.

I've never heard this. Is this popular in conservative circles? Most more progressive types feel as if Dems have just slipped into the red zone more and more over time and the Republicans have just slipped into their own bizarre world without a real political label but much further right than before.

The fact that they have tricked a large group of Americans into thinking that Obama, Biden, and Harris are
Progressives, let alone the “radical left,” is something that will be written about in textbooks for future generations to study.

Except he didn't lead like Reagan.


Reagan was a trained actor who could play the part. He actually raised the bar very high for future presidents to fill. Maybe Clinton and maybe came close in "charisma" - but it is a high bar. No one else since.

The democrats continue to put a lot of money into West Virginia and the people there continue to vote republican. If Joe were Trump, he would somehow exempt WVA from federal funds and make things there worse. Thankfully, Biden isn't Trump.

In fact, most of the manufacturing money under the CHIPs act is disproportionately helping red states. And yet, the GOP uniformly voted against it.

I dislike him personally but his policies will be much better for the US right now.
