maybe try the Del Rey part of Alexandria.
Or Springfield seems to have more down to earth people?
You mean the moms of Del Ray that have "Everyone is Welcome Here!" signs in their yard but sneak out at night to vandalize JD Vance's home? Or the ones that started a petition to get his wife and kids banned from local establishments?
In fairness, JD Vance is human garbage, so no one wants that in their neighborhood. Not because of his background or appearance, but because of his loathsome positions and loving Trump.
+1 JD Vance is awful.

Go to Burke, or Fairfax - you're more likely to find less snobbery and more down-to-earth people.

They hate you if you're pretty, naturally slender, and have a beautiful kid. They'll do their best to ruin your life. Stay out of their way, because they're toxic.
You can't make up this crap. It's amazing.
Lol.
And if you mention your kid getting a higher iready/SAT etc score than their kid, watch out as the fangs come out.
If you or your family have one iota of anything more than the mean mommy who rules the pack...
True story. There was so much competition for the end of year elementary awards that the principal moved from being an event for the whole school to sit through. Only the kids getting the awards and their parents were invited. One of the psycho moms from my neighborhood who was obsessed with my kids parked her car on my street and followed me to the school to see if my kid was getting an award. I am not making this up. She told other people she did this.

So you are cool with it if people vandalize other people’s homes when they disagree with their policy views? Or is it just when YOU disagree with their policy views?

I live in North Arlington, trust me when I tell you this happens here, too. If you're not cute and white and blonde, you're not part of the bus stop crew. Your kid might be invited to the bus stop end of year party, but you will be largely ignored.
This makes me a lot happier about my community. All of the moms are mostly Indian and most of them group together, but we still smile at each other and talk from time to time. I don’t think they’re gossiping about me or other moms! There are a few other non Indian moms (three or so) and we also chat from time to time but we aren’t friends. I try to suggest group activities so our kids can go to same camp, sport. That’s basically all we talk about. Me and one other mom who is European are the only white moms. I guess living in an immigrant community has its perks. Being super close to the neighbors can get very awkward if there is a clash. We live in townhouses so we are all super close to each other.
Where do you live? Where I live the Indian moms are definitely gossiping, it's just that you don't know it because they are talking in their mother tongues. They are also terribly snobby about leaving about American borns like me.

Wut.
Lots of neurotic, insecure, anxious weirdos posting.
It’s literally all in your head, pp. No one is thinking about you at all, let alone this much.
