Speaking of downfall, Phillip Gyau is now listed as a U9 coach for next season
Not the U13 MLS Next coach
He also was busy and having trouble putting in the time for MLSN. His attendance and attention has been spotty to put it mildly. This had been an ongoing concern for a while. It may well have more to do with that than anything else.
It could also be that they're just resetting his cycle with a different group. Wasn't he with the 2010's from about U9 - U12?
Based on the resume of the new MLS Next U13's coach, I don’t think any of the parents will be disappointed.
Unless their kids were picked for physicality over technical skills and IQ
This guy is of Spanish, Barca background and rugby-ball won't be his thing
Barça background? How did he come to be part of the local soccer scene?

I am sure coaches have their own pecking orders, but from my vantage point, a lot more clubs should pay considerably more attention to the level of coaching at U9/U10, where coaches may have the most positive impact on player development. This is where Arlington has often fallen short on the boys side.
Yup, we here in America overlook the importance of the foundation phases, yet expect high qualities at older ages.

Demotion or develop young talents?

Everything except producing college players and pros. But those U15 trophies will last into your kids' 40's and 50's I'm sure.
If a kid leaves your club and pays to go to college and play soccer, you didn't really produce a college player
You just had a kid at your club who went to a college they would have went to anyway regardless of club.
This is another dumb statement. Please tell me how many soccer scholarships there are for men's and women's soccer?
Doesn't matter much. foreign players on the mens side are taking a significant number of scholarships per major program. It will only gonna get harder for US pay for play players to compete with real academies abroad.
