The "Fiesta" is pretty tone deaf. We were asked to participate in CYA all stars and said no. The theme is offensive.

Sounds like they are putting the whole terrible team into the tournament to play all star teams.

I emailed my dc's coach who is also the all star coach and he says their CYA all star team is playing in the FPYC tournament.

The medals and trophies should be in the shape of a toilet bowl. Would be less offensive than sombrero.

The FPYC tournament will take SFL teams but they have 3 levels per age group usually so they can put the SFL teams in the lower levels and the All Star teams in the higher levels.

That’s a big if. Have they listed any participating rec clubs yet? Last year was a pretty weak showing for their inaugural year and now people know how much that tournament sucks. I think they might be toast.

These tournaments are big money makers and they pretty much run off of volunteer work. It’s a suckers gambit. They collect huge fees and give out a few plastic sombrero medals. Save your Father’s Day and go out to lunch with your kids.
