Stayed at the residence inn San Juan. Newer hotel. Pretty nice. 5 min walk to beach.
Our two high schoolers sleep in while DH and I go to the beach around 9. Teens join us around 11.
One day we did an excursion to Vieques to do the bio bay. The ferry was fun but it was overrated and expensive. Also the place we stayed was dumpy. We’re happy to get back to San Juan.
The food has been meh, but also not that bad. For lunch I got a chicken kabob and a pina colada for $10 on the beach.
All in all, with direct flights and 2 rooms AAA rate, spent about $6k. W food and car rental, probably more like $7500. But a great 8 days!

We’ve still enjoyed the hikes and the scenery but everything is muddy, wet and cold. The last 2 days should be great but overall it’s been very disappointing weather wise. It was warmer at home. We didn’t expect it to be hot, but still.
Did you do Northern Arizona? Southern Arizona is much better for spring break.
Tucson maybe. Even Phoenix was cold this past week until the very end.
Shhhhhh!
Tucson is usually cooler than Phoenix because the elevation is slightly higher and there’s less concrete. But AZ Jan-March is never a sure thing. I grew up there and we never opened our pool until May (it wasn’t so stupid hot in the 80s though)
