And why criticize these scores anyway? They’re all solid scores.
DCUM is far too obsessed with putting others down.
The cope from private school parents are strong here. First it was didn’t care where their kids matriculated. Now it’s don’t care about SAT averages. Pretty soon it’s gonna be don’t care about the drugs they do either.
It’s inherent conflict of interest to think the school where you are shelling $20-50k a year might be a dud.

SJC is not a Catholic boys school. It is also not better than Gonzaga academically.
Gonzaga is not a true Catholic school due to lack of diversity. Its population is more akin to the Cathedral schools and should be compared as so.
Umm this has no bearing on whether they are Catholic.

I would never send my kid to a catholic school. That said, I don't see the issue with the scores. Those are fine scores. Some will do worse, some will do better. Schools don't make "better" students. Students make schools, period. When I look at the kids my own kids went to preschool with or were friends with, they all went to different kinds of schools. Some went public, some went parochial, some went private. Even the ones in gifted programs did not end up in ivies or top 50 schools. Nearly all go to the excellent state flagship or good private colleges.

Interesting that over 1300 kids are vying for 300 spots of a “subpar education” at a popular Catholic school in DC. Other Catholic schools in the area are only able to accept a fraction of the applications they received. So much for subpar. 🙄

Cathedral schools are quite diverse - about 40 percent persons of color ie: asian, African American, latino, not to mention several muslim and jewish families so also racial diversity. That said, I thought Gonzaga was also diverse as well?

Which often is everyone or nearly everyone.
Only if it’s an in-school test day which doesn’t happen at every school and certainly not for every test. Some schools host an administration on a Saturday but don’t have a weekday in-school test.
