Here are stats: 94/100 grade average (school doesn’t do GPA on a 4.0 scale), 33 ACT, private school that doesn’t offer APs so none taken but all accelerated and honors classes, interesting extracurriculars, employment and volunteer work. Seems like the perfect place for my DC - wanted a small school in a more urban environment and there aren’t many of those. We did not apply for financial aid so we were very surprised by the merit aid with an ED app.

Last year my B+ ADHD girl had a similar list, + Juniata and SMCM (wanted small school with good environmental science program). Got into all schools with merit and is doing well now at Juniata.

Juniata was high on our list last year!

Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana and Kansas so far. Waiting for three more schools that are coming out at the end of January.

Congratulations to all the young people that have worked so hard. I'm going to post my nephew, since DD is too young for this post.

He's in at Kelley Business School @ Indiana University, Texas A&M, Rose Hulman, and Minnesota. Waiting for a few more acceptances and FA/scholarships before making a call.

Thanks! Yes, I’ve heard that it is the case for boys. Thankfully her stats and STEM coursework are strong. She also applied very early to Pitt since we heard that merit does “run out.”

Not the OP, but it’s so nice to have a cheerful thread without stats, comparisons, etc!

Maybe other threads can be started about stats?

My DD same list. Considering Juniata (got merit) would love to hear more about how she likes it

She quickly made friends and is especially BFFs with her roommate (she is pre-med from Florida). Likes most of her professors and has decided she wants to add more biology to her environmental science program, customizing it to something like "Environmental Biology" (they encourage customized majors). Seems to be happy socially and plays in the band (gets an additional scholarship for that). Only real complaint is that the dining hall doesn't know how to make rice well (she can't eat gluten so normally eats a lot of rice). Early days but seems off to a good start. She plans to do the Field Station Semester in Spring of next year.

Agree. And this class of graduating seniors had a start to high school that was, shall we say, historically bizarre. Given that start, and the many associated challenges, all of this good news feels especially worthy of celebration.
