It's based on the old YSR. They just slipped to #2. They've been in the top 5 for the past two years. The core of the team has been there for a long time and three of the players occasionally played for DCU last year. We'll see what they do this year. They have not played much this season. I saw them play last year and thought they could have handled any U14 MLS Next team I saw; I saw them when they were a lot younger and they were dominant then as well.
You on joke time if you think Pipeline 2009's can match-up against the top MLS Clubs like Philly Union and others in that category who beat European clubs at the Generation Adidas Cup.

If it's only 1.5 hours of evaluation surely they would have known a little about some of these players prior? Or do they do a second round after the initial open eval?

If you're good enough, you're good enough. Some of that is so they can reach out to the coach and get more info on the player.
Yes there is some nepotism and politics involved, but if your child stands out that's generally at that matters.

Do you seriously think a kid can be at the ID session showing exceptional skills and IQ clearly visible to all to be above the rest, but DC United will look at his Bio and see Annandale Rabbits FC so reject him?

Saturday Pipeline won 2-1 against DCU and then tied ASA (which hasn’t had the best season, ASA looked better than they have in a while) 2-2. Looked like same Pipeline kids to me. Sunday’s ref was over the top, gave out 2 red cards (1 for each team) for barely anything but kept giving warnings to same kids for other things. Made zero sense.
It went from shoving to swinging arms (not barely anything), so the red cards were warranted.
Another PL kid after getting a yellow went in with both feet and studs up. He too should have been shown the exit
Alexandria obviously was working on playing out the back and stuck to it the whole game. Even after they made a mistake and Pipeline scored.
But that's what these events are for. Kudos to their discipline.
We were on the sidelines and heard a lot of trash talking between PL and ASA players.
And? How is that different from any other game or almost any other sport? At least it wasn’t the parents. You expect trash talking from the athletes.

There are only few ways to get recruited:
1) Fill out the application and provide highlight video
2) Talent Center event like this but you have to stand out among the 100 kids that show up for each session
3) Stand out and get the attention when scouts show up to watch games
