The Biden administration laid out an ambitious new goal for the US: produce 20% of the world’s most advanced semiconductor chips by the end of the decade.
😂 😂 😂
These fools will never learn
By the end of the decade? This needs to be completed BEFORE China attacks Taiwan and takes over TSMC. That's the whole point.

Good luck finding enough skilled people willing to live in Montana to create an apprenticeship program for high-tech manufacturing. Chip fabrication is highly technical/specialized. We cannot teach Americans to do this work without Taiwanese workers to train them.

This is such BS. The US have the workers and they can be trained and taught. They just have to be willing to pay a fair wage in comparison to a Taiwan wage.

Different zoning and other approval processes. That is a local issue, not federal.
Who is subsidizing TSMC to do that?
TSM has not yet been awarded a government grant for the Arizona build out. So either Arizona is currently subsidizing, or TSM is footing the buildout. TSM put in a request to bring over workers from Taiwan to work the Arizona factory, arguing that they could not find skilled workers in the US. I do not know if the request was granted. I surely hope not, especially if they are receiving government grants.
Us government messed up by not rubber stamping greencards to Tsmc workers so they can smoothly bring them here and staff the buildout in az
Gina raimondo is an Italian American from then north east. She will never understand semiconductors like East Asians will
Not sure how she became a Rhodes scholar
