My mom graduated from high school at age 10 and went to college at age 11. I'm very glad that my IQ isn't off the charts the way hers was.

Supposedly schools used to do iq tests back in the day (c. 1970). My mother tested 112 and the school told her parents that was not quite college material. She married well and never worked. My uncle tested 145 and he never lived up to it. He is comfortable but not wealthy and stayed a low-level engineer at an automaker because he couldn't be a manager.
I tested 139 and basically have followed in my uncle's footsteps. I had an interview yesterday and was asked why I hadn't been promoted with my skill set....the truth is that social skills serve people far more than raw iq.

Another big nope. They would have graduated high school by 12 years old. What could middle school classes offer someone with a 150 IQ.

The brilliant kids who end up at MIT don’t have 150 IQs and they aren’t frat boys.

I seriously think some do those online tests where everyone scores high and they’re dumb enough to think the test is credible.

My 13 year old's IQ is similar. He does well in school, but finds most of his challenge outside of school through his extracurriculars.

No your 13 year old IQ is not similar to 156. Those are prodigies and they don’t go to regular school.

My kid had one done through the school in order to qualify for an IEP (learning disabilities). That's actually how we found out she has a learning disability- her IQ was 'high average' (114 - I think 80th ish percentile) but her reading scores were way lower than you'd expect for someone with that IQ (more like 10th-15th percentile).

Psychologists do not seem even remotely qualified to assess someone's intelligence.

Huh? Why not?

We don’t even allow psychologists to prescribe medicine.

It is bizarre to think that intelligence is something buried deep in our DNA, and then ask people whose background in science is minimal to assess it.
