Frankly, we would quit any rec league like SYA that would be so dismissive of older rec players that they only cared to organize younger teams for all stars.
Is it possible that the older SYA teams just really don’t have enough good players? Doesn’t SYA try to funnel anyone halfway decent into a lower level valor team so they can make more money off them?

Which school district do you work in and more importantly can you afford a single detached house in said district?
FCPS. Yes, and a lot more.

It was never even mentioned to parents as canceled, they just didn't put teams together for above 5th grade when every other previous season, they have. Last spring the put older teams into the terrible valor tournament so I guess they are motivated to do it only when our money goes right to valor profits?
We are going to switch to another rec soccer league in spring and hope its better run then SYA.
My daughter would have been so disappointed if our rec league decided 6th grade and up was "too old" for all stars. That's lame!

You get what you pay for and the Herndon Cup provides a nice experience for rec league kids at end of season. Without it your kids would be home, so if you prefer staying at home then just do that and get an early start on your narcissistic Thanksgiving rants
