This entire thread is weird. 38 ain't all that different from 45. I wonder if op made a typo and she's actually 28.

Haha, I agree! I’m 43 and find this all a tad perplexing…

At 42, I was feeling great and in great shape. It was like a switch flicked and everything changed dramatically at 46. Not many years in number but huge in terms of changes for me.

+1 I’m 46 and there’s a huge difference for me between 38 and mid-40s. The end of our fertile years has far-reaching effects.

Do. Not. Marry this. Person. Just. Because. You’ll. Be. 40. Soon. Don’t. Do. It. Please.

I would tell myself not to worry because the long sexual drought that was the last five years of my marriage was going to end soon and to get ready for some really great post-divorce sex!

And open a hot yoga studio.

Stop ignoring the weird bloodwork. You’re going to get a taste of your mortality next year. And then four years later, and then another 6 years later. Stop putting things off. I don’t know how much longer we’ll be able to keep this up.

Not OP, but thank you. I feel like I needed to read this. Dealing with a kid with some SNs and I know I need to just lean into my family and give up fantasies of ramping up at work. I also keep coming up with excuses to neglect my fitness and sleep. But it’s so hard to know where to start when I’m just on a constant life treadmill.
