The victim is quoted calling it her crotch in the news article you linked. I assure you women do not refer to their buttocks as "crotches" - she means her vulva by that.

If someone approaches you from behind and grabs your "crotch" they are grabbing your butt. All articles/comments refer to it as "buttocks", not "vulva".
