? A lot of people. It’s a top school, I’d argue equal to or better than Yale at this point.
Equal or better than Yale?
Penn boosters out in full force, and as always, they're piping delusion.
I have no connection to either school. But I certainly regard Penn as a superior school to Yale. With Wharton, it has the preeminent undergraduate business program in the world. And Penn engineering is infinitely better than Yale engineering. I'm sure Yale is a very pleasant place to study art history, but it's not 1952 anymore. Yale has failed to adapt to a changing world. It's increasingly an anachronism.

\Anonymous wrote:Assuming that paying full price included taking out a total of $30,000 in loans over 4 years (average of $7,500 per year), for which elite colleges and universities would you pay full price ? (I specify the loan amounts to depict one who must sacrifice to attend an elite school at full sticker price.)
Assume that the student is undecided regarding major and career.

HYPSM plus Hopkins, Cal Tech and Georgetown.
That's because we can afford any college.
As a PP said, I would never take out loans to pay for college, even the ones above.
Georgetown and Hopkins over Penn and Duke? That needs explanation, the ROI on Penn and Duke are probably a decent amount better. I’m guessing proximity to home?
Duke has always felt more southern to me than some like to admit both in terms of leadership and students. They are always looking to strengthen that old "Duke family" as President Price has said.

UPenn top school, sure. Equal to or better than Yale, definitely not.
