You make fun of male cyclists who wear spandex shorts, but what about all the women--many of them overweight--who wear bicycling shorts when they go to have coffee or to the supermarket? And yes--they ARE bicycling shorts, not some euphemism like "athleisure." Male cyclist to such women: you don't look sexy. Get in shape. Lift weights. Go to the gym to exercise, not to show off your overprized outfits.

I know this is just one cyclist, but this behavior is definitely not unique.

What is it about this specific hobby that makes them so angry, entitled and quite frankly rude?

Driving in a car is a hobby?

+1. I’m from Colorado and have gotten stuck too many times behind the Ride the Rockies peloton and let me tell you. You can just hear them congratulating themselves from their backside spandex.

Gosh I’d be hitting up Pottery Barn and the coffee shop. But that’s coming from a 40s mom of young kids with zero freedom so my pleasures are a bit simpler.

They should just stop selling bicycles to men altogether.
