Had they been taken hostage or worse, the EC vote count would not have happened. The state delegrations in the House would have voted. Trump would've easily won.

And go look at Trump's 2016 transition team and plan - that was also put together by the Heritage Foundation and he went along with 80% of it. Now they are back for a bigger whack at the apple.

Who is notably silent despite almost being lynched by his boss’s followers in 2020. Pence is a coward and the fact that he managed to follow the constitution once is great (though it pains me to have to say that since, you know, it should be a given) but does not absolve him of all he was complicit in or ignored before and after that day.

First, Trump is a liar and can't be trusted. Second, the stories about Trump making a decision based on the last person that talked to him are legion. He has no focus and is easy manipulated. Third, the only Republicans that have ever stood up to Trump have been summarily voted out of office and out of the party. The GOP will adopt whatever policy Trump tells them to.

A powerful conservative organization has laid out their vision for America and they are determined to implement it. Many of them already served in the first Trump administration. You can try to distance the GOP and Trump from Project 2025, but no one believes you because you aren't trustworthy.

I have to say I am continually amazed at how Trump is never held to account for any insane thing he says or does. I guess there's so much of it (intentionally so?) that it's easier to give into the exhaustion instead of addressing it.
