People who are obese or overweight and lose a moderate amount of weight aren’t any healthier than people who just stay overweight.

The delineation in BMI between “normal weight,” “overweight,” and “obese” is totally arbitrary and not based on any statistics about health or risk of heart disease or stroke or anything else.

People will deny it but it's true that you thin folk are much nicer to other thin people.

Not exactly. Many fat people are just as biased as thin people against other fat people.

This is definitely true!

Remember the stories about people in fat suits for a day? Apparently we could only trust the opinions of thin people on what it’s like to be fat.

Yep. As a person who has done a million diets and not one that stuck, and now five years out of weight loss surgery that has stuck, this is a fact.

There are millions of people who keep weight off without surgery. Just because you can’t doesn’t mean it’s not true for the rest of us. Stop denying our lived experience.

Did you pick this one up from an episode of Black Mirror?

Stress (maybe cortisol levels?) plays a bigger role in weight gain than people talk about.

Unless you're a full blown diabetic, it should be encouraged to eat as much fruit as you want to eat. Not just berries, but apples, bananas, watermelon, mango, oranges, etc.

The sugar in fruit is no big deal when it's paired with fiber and water, and is an excellent solution if you're someone who suffers from a sweet tooth. It is MUCH better to eat half a watermelon than a row of oreos.

People will always be more concerned with their own vanity, thinness, and biases than actual health, longevity, and wellness and will align their beliefs and behaviors (about themselves and others) accordingly.

That different things work for different people. Not all bodies are the same. Even the same body, throughout time, changes. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to accept.
