Westbrook! We are near Little Falls Pool which, together with Westbrook Elementary, is the heart of the community. Westbrook is a compendium of neighborhoods starting with Brookdale by Friendship Heights and ending with Westmoreland Hills. Big homes, small homes and all wonderful.
Lots of international families, community spirit, close to metro, restaurants, two Whole Foods, close to Downtown Bethesda, Capital Crescent Trail, short commute to DC. Friendship Heights is revitalizing with new food hall and Mazza Gallery redevelopment.

Chevy Chase DC! Although I was nervous about stereotypes, we moved into a warm, welcoming, and lively community. There are 7 kindergartners within a block of us, and the kids knock on doors and ask to play old-school style, which has been a game changer. We often spend weekend days hanging with neighbors (kids and adults) and have been delighted to make many new friends. Folks help each other, watch out for each other's kids, and welcome newcomers. There are a bunch of different fun block parties, first Fridays during the summer, etc. Much more international than I anticipated, too. We're an 8 min walk to retail, restaurants on CT Ave plus library, 5 Lafayette playgrounds, etc. Only thing I wish we had is community pool. This is a delightful thread. Thanks for sharing!

We love Westmoreland Hills in Bethesda. Right on the DC border, and we can walk to shops and restaurants. Green, hilly, neighborly and with older homes and huge trees, it feels really established. When we moved in, our block was mostly older couples who had lived there for 20-30 years to raise families. But it has turned over completely and now there are kids everywhere. Great public schools. Houses come on the market rarely, so we feel lucky that we bought a decade ago.
