This is a shiat situation, but really, it gives you an opportunity to walk away from these chucklefarks and cut the lot of them out. While you see a chance, take it. Just cut them out and firewall them off from here forward. Similar thing happened to me and it was the best decision I ever made. I got over it within 6 weeks and made new friends and acquaintances.

Whatever do, do not inquire further.

OP here. Stepmom was left both houses (approx 3M) his retirement, and savings (which were not disclosed but had to be sizable) and all of his kids were given an equal share of money.

I doubt I will see anything from my stepmom when she passes so I did think it was odd that my dad didn't anticipate this and provide more to me and my sister.


OP, clearly you know why you weren't invited. I'm sorry your dad is a jerk who put her before all his kids.

You need to get a copy of your father's will and have a lawyer look over it. You may have been distraught at the time and missed something you are owed.


Op, have you seen the will? Is there a will? Are you aware that they are public documents and you can contact the county where he died and get a copy?
