Or to change the Supreme Court. That’s how the Catholics rolled back reproductive liberty for women. We can surely do the same thing for unregulated possession of firearms.

DP... I don't think confiscation would work. But I would support a law that requires mandatory registration of every gun, and felony jail time and revocation of gun rights if you don't register. That will separate the law-abiding gun owners from those who aren't.

We’ll guess what, we aren’t hopeless. Every single one of us has agency. We need to be talking to friends and family about need for some, any gun safety legislation. We need support gun safety candidates up & down ballot. We need to vote.

Will this happen overnight? No. But look at what MI has done this year. Put Dems in power and we will save lives.

Nothing is going to change as long as the good old south and fly over states keep electing republicans which they will because they lack brain cells. The blue states even the ones in the Midwest can do whatever they want, as long as the federal government is evenly divided, we can’t expect the passage of any meaningful gun legislation such as banning assault weapons.

Don't blame the south. Chicago, Detroit, New York City and many other violent cities are not in the south.

You completely missed the PP point. It's the red states that are preventing the solutions to these problems at the federal level.

Well guns don't stop at borders so this state solution hasn't exactly been working. We're all only as safe as the weakest state's gun laws.

Overall, violent crime rose slightly year over year—from 4.4 instances per 1,000 residents to 4.8 to 5.0. Property crime also increased from 13.6 to 13.8 in 1,000 residents.

17% of survey respondents reported having a personal experience with violent crime in the last year—this is up from 10% the following year.

25% of Michiganders reported experiences with property crime in the 12 months prior to our survey. That rose from 13% the year before.


MI is doing much better under complete democratic control, the results speak for themselves.
