I am sure she is someone who dyes her hair every four weeks and pretends she has no gray hair even though she is in her late 50s or older.

I applaud this ad’s questioning of our beauty standards that deem most of us ugly as we are.

NP but I don't grow hair on my upper lip naturally and I assumed most other women didn't either.

You probably just don’t have friends from other cultures.

Oh wait. I looked it up and realized I am not wrong. You are. Most women don't have facial hair. I am surprised by how large a minority of women do, though-- 40%.

In general, this ad is getting really bad feedback. They should just share the shortened version.

Why? Because facial hair on women is offensive to you?

I"m not PP, but while I don't find it offiensive, I do find it very unattractive.

Do you like it?

Same. I am irritated that we are supposed to pretend that objectively unattractive things are actually attractive to sufficiently enlightened people.

Look, some people have a body hair kink, but it's not mainstream. And it's not a kind of imperfection that is actually adorable like a crooked smile or a slightly atypical nose. It's a grooming choice and one that people usually don't make because it doesn't optimize their looks.

Spare me the feminism angle, btw. Feminists have real problems right now, not things like forcing people to pretend body hair is hot.

Oh please!!!! Someone started a thread to call it gross and repulsive. It’s not. It’s hair hair. Women being called gross and repulsive in their natural state is very much a feminist issue and always has been. Spare me the “I can’t be bothered” when being called out on your misogyny.

I don’t like it enough to grow my own mustache out. But I am also not going to bash any other woman who does or just doesn’t care enough not to shave it.

I'm a white, non minority woman who has been dealing with facial hair since my 20s. Lots of women have this issue but we are shamed to do anything we can to get rid of the hair..

Sorry, but also an older woman.

Yeah I know that. I'm just stating that we elder millennials maintain exacting standards. Workout, dress up, and don't let everything grow freely. Have some self respect.

I do all of those things, too, but it’s interesting that you equate it with self-respect. It’s just learned behavior, nothing more. Strict adherence to cultural norms is really more about following without questioning, about wanting to fit in. I’d argue that the people who go against the grain really have more self respect.

I do. In fact, I've lived in a very foreign country. I just don't ask other ladies about their body hair. It never occurred to me that most women, apart from the more hirsute ethnicities, would have lip hair.
