So my child can be an example that the committe is not
focusing only on the nnat / cogat scores anymore?
It is actually an example of the NEW "fools in schools" program promoted by Fairfax countyhaycock level 4 aap is NOW gen-ed quality
Does it make you feel good to say that? I feel sorry for your kid.
I am just stating the facts. Because of all the underscoring kids county/principal placed in the level 4 aap class, it has become a gen-ed class. You should feel sorry for my kid who is surrounded by all these average kids pretending to be "gifted"

For such kids, AAP L4 is a formality, grade acceleration is more powerful, recognizing the social/emotional and sports needs that don’t exactly line up with academics. In todays times, anything below 145 is an average score for nnat/cogat/wisc and anything below 99% for iready is average. There should be a TJ equivalent at elementary level for the really gifted kids and that doesn’t exist. AAP is all there is![]()
Agree, but they won’t do that here.
We came from a system like this.

Anonymous wrote:Good point. To the person who posted before... I am under no delusions that my kid is truly gifted. But I have stuffed folders many times at school and I have a basic familiarity with a good number of the kids in the class and none of them seems gifted. Isnt it something like 1% of people that truly are gifted? Also its called advanced academic program and not Gifted anymore for this reason. I doubt there are truly many kids who aced the cogat and have advanced ireadys in all of the different sections.

GBRS unknown but the teacher seemed happy with kid at parent conference
Not in. It sucks.
Ireadys are on grade level or advanced. Is it worth it to get a wisc?
