This is OP. This is basically what I'm planning to do. I may just "forget" to respond to her text. If she shows up and stays, fine, but I'm not there to entertain her.
You are a bad person and you are teaching your child to be a bad person.
Oh, Bull! OP is not giving into all the whining moms about their snowflakes. If your 8 year old cannot attend a birthday party and behave then you haven't done your job as a parent.

Anonymous wrote:Average for a 2nd grader is 7-8 and should be able to attend a birthday party for classmate without holding mommy's hand! If they can't they can't then the parent is doing something wrong! I travelled by plane by myself at age 7 and was not afraid or anxious.
Anonymous wrote:LOL. Why do people expect OP to babysit this random lady? The fact is there are many socially awkward DCUMers that probably want to be spoonfed by a host and demand they be included. OP has every right to enjoy her party- the weird mom of the weird kid can sit in the corner quietly and read if she wants, but no one should give her even a moment of thought!
Anonymous wrote:Just an FYI for everyone saying the OP wove busy supervising the whole class. I used to work at a place that did weekend parties. There were hired people who ran the parties. We didn’t need the parents to do anything other than show up with food, pay and tip, and take the garbage bags full of gifts out to the car.

OP has to be a troll. I simply cannot believe there are still mothers around here who actually think and behave like this. If not, do not worry OP, this mom sounds like a normal person so likely does not want anything to do with you and your girlfriends and will be much happier when you do ignore her.
