Well there just aren’t a lot of houses out there in the country to begin with. Everything has to be built so you won’t have a lot of resale going on. Everything being built is 5k, 6k sq feet so that drives up the price. Builders like making money.
these people are just salty that the 400 acre farmer could build 400 homes and make 400 million dollars. this 400 acre farmer in aldie is richer than you all. LOL

Try harder…
Move to Loudon and trade in a quarter acre lot with a luxury home for a half acre builder grade craftsman. Newer but low ranked schools filled with URM and trumpers. All in the name of saving some money due to inventory shortage. We’ll stick to paying millions.
I don't understand why people "closer in" have such a hang-up with people who choose to live further out. Newsflash- not everyone WANTS to live in congested Reston or Tysons. Some people actually want nice-sized lots and could care less about being close to Tysons Corner Mall. I know you want people to think that we spend our days holed up in our homes with nothing to do, but that's not the case. We actually have neighborhoods and communities and plenty of things to do here. We're not worried about you all, so don't worry about us.
Loudoun schools are crap. I know, because my kids go there. Such a mistake.
Honestly, if your kid isn't doing well at Loudoun schools (or any nearby school systems, honestly), then I think you have a different issue. Any smart, disciplined kid from an educated family will do well just about anywhere.
Loudoun Schools graduated one of my children to Brown and the other to UVA. 🤷♀️

What's Baldaccis?

Where do Aldie residents purchase organic foods?

They’re absolutely horrible! We got sold on out here years ago when they were much better. We can’t get out of here fast enough after watching them go down the tunes in the last several years. The race issues are out of control!

There are plenty of us who just do not enjoy city life or life in the close in suburbs. I live in an exurb and cannot image a circumstance in which I would move back to the close in suburbs.
It’s all the same “life” regardless of your distance from dc. What changes are schools, commute, demographics, cost of living, and amenities. They all improve close in and that comes with a cost that’s unaffordable or not worth it for some.
I don’t think anyone is comparing Aldie to living in DC.
No, it’s not the same “life”, my day to day life is drastically different in my exurb 40 miles out than it was when I lived 5 miles from the DC line. All those things you mentioned make up a life. The schools my kids are at now are better than where they were in MCPS, the cost of living out here is much better, and I have access to all the amenities that are important to me. It’s fine that others don’t have the same priorities that I do when it comes to quality of life, but for me and my family our quality of life was much worse closer in than it is now.
🤷🏻♂️ You upgraded from a bad part of MD to less bad part of VA. Google the school rankings for Aldie, they’re nothing to write home about.
none of the schools in loudoun are to write home about. but that’s what you sacrifice; cheaper cost of living for worse schools and living 1.5 hrs from DC.
I thought the schools in Aldie would be excellent because of the heavy presence of South Asians but I was wrong. People are starting to move to private.
Can a post scream “I’m a total racist” more than your post? JFC.
