Love Katherine and Kate. Can’t do Katie or Kathy.

Love Charlotte, Victoria, Rebecca, just no to all nicknames.

[i]I have two girls and this was a huge deal when naming - [i]we needed something nickname-proof.

Same. Picked Audrey thinking it was nickname proof only to have a random family members shorten it to “Aud” so cringe…

Meh. Its like Mary, Marianna, Merryn being called Mare.

…Merryn is not a name.

Named my daughter Kate

That is a nickname.

It's PP's daughter's given name, so in this case, it's not.

I have three kids with names mentioned above. Their name selection was made with serious intent on picking their names with no bad or annoying nicknames. Not Margaret ( ours is Maggie and that is her given name ), she tends to go by Mags which I thought I originally hated but she actually likes it, Anna, not Annie ( though I like that name just fine ) and Charles but call him Charlie not Chas, Chuck or Charles. All family names that we borrowed.

Hate Becky!!! Thankfully, nobody calls me by that.

Another Rebecca, who likes her name! And like you, I detest Becky. Most people call me by my name, Rebecca, however, family members have been known to call me Reb.

I like the name Kathryn that can be shortened to Kat or Kate. But I don't like Kathy.
After watching Shameless, I like the nickname Lip for Philip. Never really liked the name, Philip or Phil
I like Deborah, but don't like Debbie
I like Liam but I don't like William
I like the name John as a standalone name. Don't like Jonathan.

Bex > Becca > Rebecca

What exactly is Rusty short for?

Rusty is a nickname for Russell. The two I know do not have red hair. One is blonde, one is bald.

The Rustys I know are not named Russell. They all had red/auburn hair though.

Sorry, there are no nickname proof names. If it’s too unusual, your me kid may get the initial letter nickname or something unexpected.

I have a nickname proof name and truly have never been nicknamed (Adriana). People also suck at pronouncing my name so I am constantly correcting them. I like my name but would never name my kid something so onerous.

Riana, Na, Ree, …

Wtf kind of nickname is Na?

Maybe short for Ne Ne ?

The original poster in this subthread said their name Adriana was nickname-proof. A list was provided. Keep up.
