Looks like some good early season games this week.
Also something I've been curious about for some time -what's the with the crazy scheduling? Teams have no games for 1.5/2 weeks, then have 3 in one week; teams are scheduling traveling Colorado teams to fill in open gaps in schedule etc. Is it just field availability or something else? Also why the weekend/spring break tournaments - just to get more game action in or is that only way to get to minimum number of games?
FCPS had 2 No-Play dates last week because of Ramadan which is the reason for the lack of games. FCPS also has 2 formats for scheduling games, 1) A straight 11 game schedule where FCPS pays for the refs, bussing, etc. 2) Teams schedule 9 games and the remaining 5 games have to be in a tournament format which requires them to be played within a week's timeframe. Those remaining 5 games fees are paid directly by the school or teams involved. Arlington, PW, Loudoun and the rest of VA does not have these rules and can schedule 14 games individually. It will never change due to equity needs of Fairfax County. In terms of Cheyenne Mountain playing Madison, the head coach of CM used to coach at Woodson HS and he brings his team here every other year for their spring break to face outside competition.
Who are the idiots who schedule FCPS games? I know it won't do any good, but I'd like to vent my complaints to them anyway. Why the hell does spring break have to be ruined?
Spring break is annoying but more importantly how is even a little bit okay to have these kids playing 10 games over the course of 2 weeks....lacrosse isn't football but it is a physical game...these teens need to have recovery time...
Agree, and due to field availability my kid's team practices are often from 730 to 930 which is insane because they can't get the sleep they need.

I am sure the players and the coaching staff are focused on the next game, lax dads however should be free to comment on what will be a key matchup. I think Madison will likely control the face off X which can keep the game close. They do not have an answer to stop LB key players on offense and LB defense can shut down Madison's top scoring threats. On paper LB should be the favorite but team chemistry has been an issue for this team.

We will see on Monday. Glad they are playing each other in the regular season.
Madison 9-6
