This thread is extremely weird. In honor of the weird caloric restriction going on, I'm going to go make myself a mug cake and eat it with a big scoop of ice cream.

Frozen meals - yes, there is a ton of salt. Possibly a lot of calories.

Structured fresh meal delivery services like cook unity, territory, or mighty meals - no. Calorie content is variable.

This thread is still very strange.

Cookunity is amazing! Meal delivery service

https://www.cookunity.com/

I don't need this BUT, wow, I sure could have used this at certain times, and especially when my parents were declining. It would have been a lifesaver. We were cooking around the clock.

OP, cooking your own food will make the difference for you, and there's lots of simply prepared things that are doable.

We really enjoy them! Everyone can order what they like. DH and I rarely get the same thing. At this point I try one new meal a week and then the rest are my favorites. We get these meals M-Fri sometimes M-Yhu and eat out 1-2x and there is always the intention to cook but it's usually a frozen Amy's meal. I actually really enjoy cooking but I'm really overwhelmed right now. I work so much that I have to plan when I shower and when I eat. The thought of finding time to cook. I don't know. I also work nights so a lot of my day is sleeping. I know it's all excuses but at this season in our life I can't find the time. DH could cook but I don't want to put that responsibility on him when I can't help out. Cookunity is great for us. It's also so easy to skip or pause. Last year we paused it for most of the summer when I had a lighter work load.

Anonymous wrote:My secret go to-I make 2 or 3 dressings: a lemon vinegrette, tahini, and/or tzadiki sauce. Here's more, a Sriracha sauce, avocado sauce, rice wine sauce, a balsamic sauce. They go lightly on everything ( I am a vegetarian, but this works with meat)throughout the week- salads, chick peas, veggie burgers, lentils, , veggies, bulghur wheat, farro. There's always a great lunch or dinner. Have the sauces ready to go on Sunday night.
.
Breakfast..eggs 3x a week with toast, yogurt 4x a week with a little honey and some seeds.

Snacks, not really, but a mini RX protein bar is 100 cal and does the job.

Your sauces sound really good! Wouldn't think to do something like this

OP's problem is not too many calories. She barely eats[/quote
From what I seeon her list, its way too many calories, lots of prepared foods, too. Check again. What are you referring to?

Nah, she doesn't eat too many calories, but what she eats is not great. Usually her husband's Chinese leftovers, some carby snack, and then a mysterious "Cook Unity meal." It doesn't add up to too much, but they're empty calories.

OP is eating one <600 calorie meal, a yogurt and a few berries most days and people think it's too many calories?

The detail that OP only only buys the Cook Utility meals that are under 600 calories is buried, weird thread with no purpose
