It’s usually two rounds. After that everyone is free to vote for whoever they want. A democrat should nominate trump. It would cause Al” kinds of problems.

Jeffries should go to McCarthy with this deal:
All Dems will vote present if he agrees to a rules package that:
- Allows Jeffries to bring to a floor vote any bill passed by the Senate
- Takes away committee assignments from everyone who voted against McCarthy on the first round

Not going to happen. He wouldn’t follow through on commitments. Republicans can’t be trusted to operate in good faith. Also, he doesn’t control the committee assignments of Democrats.
