I love this idea. I’ve been taping them to a wall, and when the holidays end, I put them on a binder ring. I personally love getting photo cards and I love the updates people include with them. We don’t send one out every year.

Got a Christmas card from Germany last week - had family pictures on one of the panels. This is not unusual in some parts of Europe.

I’m from the US and I prefer non-photo cards.

Americans just tend to overshare and are more informal than europeans. There is also a certain amount of laziness to these cards. They give the impression of being very personal but are actually just form letters with pictures. I am american and don’t send cards at all. In terms of receiving and “displaying” cards though, I’d much rather look at pics of a family I know than generic pics of santa.

I sent my friends the undercover photos I snapped of THEM all year and they didn’t like it very much.

I only ever send these to close families like grandparents , aunts and uncles whom I know would love to display them

Just send a plain index card back with the message “unsubscribe.” That should do it.

You can choose to view it in the most negative light possible. FWIW, I don’t sent photo cards, but enjoy receiving them. I choose to view at as people taking a few moments to think of me. It’s exhausting to go through life casting the worst light on people’s motives.
