Deferred, in state, GPA 4.38, 1510 SAT. No sports, 2 ECs, including mentoring.
Disappointed for sure, but has 2 other acceptances already, so will get over this. Not sure how RD will pan out.
I'm sorry to hear it. Which college within UVA?
Arts & Sciences.

My youngest got in 10 years ago from Arlington public schools. She was an UMC white girl with no hooks, average excurriculars, a weighted GPA of just over a 4.0 (9 or 10 APs with plenty of Bs) and had a superscored SAT no higher than the mid-1200s. Granted, she got in off the waitlist, but still, I’m sure she wouldn’t have a prayer today.
Oh, and for what it’s worth, she ended up doing just fine academically, has lots of good memories, made some good friends that she still keeps in touch with and is happy enough that she went there, but all in all she wasn’t blown away by the experience. Her older sister feels exactly the same way.
Do go away, this is 2022. Your children’s experiences are 100% irrelevant.
Look, I said upfront that my daughter wouldn’t get in today. And judging from the other response I got to this thread my daughter’s experience there still IS relevant and not that different.
I hope your kid doesn’t get in.
I'm not the pp. Your post about your daughter getting in 10 years ago was not helpful at all. It makes people feel bad.
I said I was giving perspective. My goal wasn’t to make people feel either bad or good. I don’t really care what you think. I also wanted to let folks know that UVA isn’t the greatest place in the world regardless and that their kids will survive if they don’t get in.
It's apparent that you are immature and a poor communicator. As other's have said, you offered nothing to this thread including perspective...no place is perfect and of course their kids will survive if they don't get in.

What about class rank? and Rigor? The things that UVA weighs more heavily?

I get that what you were responding to was on the rude side, but this is a pretty harsh statement.
Yea, sorry. My bad.

Can we stop with this? Just let people be happy and post whatever they want.
Happy? We’ve heard crickets. Sounds bad.
