I wince internally whenever someone near me at Starbucks orders a sugary venti or trenta sized drink. I don’t care if you’re obese or a skinny teenager, it’s disgusting.

+ 1

Especially if you have a cat.

This is Julia Child’s cat, Minette.

You're missing out. Cat hair adds that certain je ne sais quoi to pretty much every dish.

Would you eat takeout at their house?

Panera soups taste bad enough when they’re freshly made I can’t imagine what they taste like sitting in a grocery store for a few days.

panera soups are all frozen. they come in bags to the store.

Oh ok. That sounds so much better!

Pretentious three star Michelin chefs never ever make or present anything I would eat!

Maybe expand beyond Panda Express?

Nope, I've lived and eaten Chinese food in NYC, San Francisco, and the DC area (including Rockville and Wheaton), and I think it's gross.

I've never eaten at Panda Express.

Do you order off of the Chinese menu or the English one?

Np I agree with the original pp. American Chinese food is beyond disgusting. Goopy, sticky, overly sweet. I love Thai, Japanese, Korean and other Asian foods. I think Chinese food needs a rebranding and more authenticity. And no, I don’t order off the Chinese menu since I’ve never seen one.

Original PP here, and same.

I think picky eating is a character flaw. A lot of it is mental and you should work with a therapist.

For background. Grew up across the pond. Moved here as young adult.

Only eat homemade yoghurt I make with organic grass-fed whole milk. Yoghurt Is not sweetened.

Homemade quiche crusts made with butter, no shortening ever.
I avoid ultraprocessed food like the plague.

If I want a sweet treat I make it myself.

I only do takeout twice a month. Most restaurant food is not that healthy or as good as it should be for the money.

I avoid white flour and make breads with whole grains.

I only buy puy lentils or regular French lentils as in grown there and imported. I refuse to buy French style lentils which are probably from here or Canada.

I prefer French mustards.

I make my own salad dressings and refuse to have any syrupy swill from the supermarket.

I could go on but I don't want to be called pretentious, which I probably am in regards to food. Disclosure: I am French born.

Chicken does not belong on pizza.

Restaurants where all the chicken options are always boneless white meat are mediocre.

Restaurants need to use pans instead of griddles for omelettes.
