I thought of CTE too (from concussions in football).

There was also a more recent report about him having a gun, which brought hom to attention of some kind of Threat Assessment Group.
It's going to get ugly as media digs in and unearths all the facts about this individual.

I have an alternate theory, given that he was only a first year and only played one year, could he have been the one who was hazed? And that no one was ever found responsible leading to this anger?

I am so sorry. This is terrible. I just read an article on the suspect and he won student of the year and other accolades. Sounds like he was good student and nice kid. How do he spiral from that to this? What a shame for all. Op my heart breaks for you and the victims families.

Don't you DARE glorify him. HE MURDERED THREE PEOPLE in cold blood and injured two others. I hope they catch him, throw him in jail and keep him there in solitary confinement for the rest of his life. I don't care how he spiraled. I want him caught and locked up.

We have a child at UVA and I am a graduate of UVA. The children at school are terrified. My husband is there right now to be with our kid and friends.

The shooter is still on the loose. It is a travesty that the shooter was able to get ahold of a gun and that he murdered three innocent people. And now he is being played in the media as some sympathetic character. Sympathy, my fat patootie. That jacka$$ murdered THREE young people living their best lives. I have no sympathy for the shooter. None.

If you are a parent, you should understand that a teenager is on the spectrum of childhood. They are not full grown adults.

According to the World Health Organization, adolescence lasts through age 19.

I'm definitely a parent. But no, 18 is a full grown adult--unless you are going to advocate that this "child" who killed three people should not be tried as an adult?

The latter, but the frat bros (or team mates) apparently refused to do the right thing...so the school could not conduct their investigation. Other students refused to cooperate.

This is rumor and what my kid at UVA heard: the suspect was kicked off the football team for hazing in 2019, but not all who were responsible were reprimanded.
