None of these Catholic schools are Ivy “feeders”. They usually send a few kids to Ivy League schools and many of them are recruited athletes.

Catholic high schools have an advantage at Catholic colleges. They have established relationships with these schools and long histories. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Jesuit colleges like Georgetown and BC view the applications of students from Jesuit high schools favorably.

And Catholic families are connected to Catholic universities and will frequently choose them over Ivies because of this relationship/ tradition.

Georgetown Prep is an Ivy Feeder. Its is also absolutely the top of the list of the so called "Big 3 C's"

Prep in NOT an Ivy-feeder. Especially if you subtract out lacrosse players.

It is much more of a Georgetown, Boston College and other Jesuit College feeder.

No chance Paul VI is in that list.

Based on the new location, really tough to include PVI in many of these lists. Not a school that parents would drive that far out of the way for. However, very convenient for western fairfax and Loudoun families not wanting public school. The exception are athletes which is a bid draw at all of the private schools. For Basketball PVI may be the top draw.

I would agree with this. Gonzaga and Visitation are the two most prestigious for the generational DC irish catholic folks. Prep and Stone Ridge have a more independent school feel--wealthier and more international.

Lots and lots of the “generational DC Irish Catholic” crowd at Prep too. International flavor come from the boarding program. The day students (non-boarders) have sisters at Visitation.

I doubt there are many recruited athletes at St Anselm’s. Probably the other two; St Anselm’s is purely an academic powerhouse.

Holy child! There you go. It’s now listed.

Holy Child is admittedly far less rigorous than visi and sr. That is what they are selling. Parents would admit it too. But great school otherwise and girls seem very happy.

You asked.

This. My son chose ND over an ivy.

But was he accepted to an IVY? Or do you mean he chose to apply to ND?

I chose ND over an Ivy. Many do, no big deal
