Subject: The Queen Consort
Camilla and their relationship are the only redeeming qualities of Charles. I grew up reading about the various scandals, but the pictures of them now they look genuinely happy. Reminds me that life is long and love is complicated.
That said, modern monarchy just doesn’t sit right with me. But, as an American Londoner, I find myself softening to the concept as it does provide an anchor to the country. Especially given Liz Truss is such a weak PM.

Like he really could’ve married someone that got to experience the world the way that he had or at least someone with a fully matured brain but just felt entitled to sow his wild oats into his thirties and then marry someone who is too young to have done the same.
Blame the queen for this, because she was the one who required that he marry a virgin.
The Queen was a bad queen and a bad mother. I never will understand why people admire this woman.

Diana knew about Camilla from Day 1. Charles and Camilla had been together on and off for over ten years at that point. Camilla was at their wedding. It was not a wedding of love, it was basically an arranged marriage as they wanted Charles to have a wife and children to carry on the line of succession and single King's are not really wanted. Diana may have had affairs before James Hewitt. I dobt think Charles and Diana were ever madly in love or committed to each other.

Yes, Peggington is the only royal to never cheatand he’s really living in Adelaide cottage because they thought that given the fact that the UK can’t afford a bank holiday for the Queen’s death it would be a great time to get a fourth house just cause.
The funny thing is they were just arguing up thread that it’s common for a King to have affairs. So which is it?
I guess lots of women try to trap princes and kings, some fall for it and others control their urges.

No. He dealt with infidelity of his parents so not going to subject his wife and kids to same trauma. It helps that he married his best friend and college sweetheart, wasn't forced into a suitable arrangement while in love with someone else. Charles already loved someone, wasn't compatible with a much younger unhappy girl who only married him for his status. That's what it seems, we aren't privy to details.

She has been dead for 25 years! At least Charles had only one extramarital affair and is now married to her. Diana, on the other hand, had several lovers while married. She was not a saint nor is Charles.

I just don’t understand this perspective. Neither Charles nor Diana were in love with each other by the end of their marriage, and they both were miserable and having affairs. So they should have just kept making each other miserable and having affairs because that would be better for the crown? I get it, people loved Diana, but this is advice you would give to no one you care about.
He never should have married Diana. And when he did he should have stayed faithful. Diana would have lived him til the end.
