This occurred to me after reading all the “crime concern” threads and posts - and realizing they all sound like trumpers.
Bring on the petty crime then! If it’s driving these people out of the city then it’s a GOOD thing.
I live in a majority-black neighborhood in Ward 5, and the most vocal (and non-PC) about criminals in the neighborhood are often my long-time black neighbors. I'm seriously doubt they're all a bunch of Trumpers.
While I doubt they’re trumpers, a Venn diagram probably shows a remarkable amount of overlap on certain issues between them and trumpers. Unfortunately many older POC are opposed to LGBTVQ+ rights, support isolationist immigration laws, and favor harsh sentencing rather than rehabilitative therapies for criminal offenders. It’s very disappointing and troubling just how much in common they have.
Have you told them who they really are?
I don’t think that would be constructive. What would the point of that be?

The OP has made clear that they are a troll and they certainly do not speak for liberals writ large.

It's not petty crime, but it's also not really the sort of thing that ANY kind of public safety policy is well set up to prevent. He appears to have had serious mental health problems and had access to guns. Do you think he was going to be deterred from doing this by ... more cops on the street? Tougher sentencing? What is the specific policy change dealing with crime that would keep this sort of thing from happening?

How horrible that you see an upside to crimes.
NP I don’t think there was ever any implied threat about R’s taking over. The point was that they cannot handle being in a vibrant and diverse city because sometimes that comes with petty crime. So if petty crime is causing them to flee then that’s a feature not a bug. No one seriously believes R’s will move in in sufficient numbers and pose a threat when it comes to elected officials. But it’s nice knowing the ones already here are fleeing.
Vibrant my a$$.
And that’s why you’re living in some exurb in VA. You’re a coward who’s scared of POC, worried someone is going to steal your hubcaps at a stoplight.
Exurbs of VA are far more diverse than Washington, particularly with a large number of African Americans who were displaced when those of your sort gentrified DC. There you have the whites cowering in Wards 3 and 6, and the "others" living out of their sight in the remaining wards. In the exurbs, every race and people from many nationalities lives quite well together. No one steals hubcaps -- we need them to get to work in DC where we screw over you city slickers with surge pricing for doing the things you are too stupid to do for yourselves.
Which Exurbs of VA are far more diverse than DC?

Oh look, following the “vibrant and diverse” line with equating concern over objectively rising levels of violent crime with being a racist. Congrats PP on hitting the trifecta of the far left’s talking points about crime. I’m just disappointed you haven’t given lip service to “addressing the root causes”.
