I am French and we all know that Putin started this mess, through a delirium of grandeur.
American intelligence was key to a correct assessment of the threat, and they had a job to do to persuade certain European nations (France among them), who well remembered their bogus WMD claims in Iraq.
However we have all come together to combat the ridiculousness that is Putin's Russia.
We are happy that American intelligence was right this time, and we'll put more faith in them next time. You don't seem to realize that the USA is coming out of this smelling like roses.
And from a French person, that's HIGH praise![]()
How fast the French forget WWII
What are you trying to say?
That you would not exist were it not for American heros
HA HA HA HA!
And you might not exist as a country were it not for French help in your war of Independence.
General Lafayette is the only foreign portrait in the Capitol.
+1
MAGA don't know stuff like that.

The 4 years before that were very stressful. Trump was a loose cannon and didn't know how to comport himself on the world stage. He made us all cringe and feel sorry for the people he supposedly represented.

Ding ding ding.
And it’s not Friedman who sees it - he’s literally being told by the highest levels in the WH they are concerned about this massively .
I don’t think people get just how precarious things are in developed parts in Europe right now.
Yes the food is great and the walkable neighborhoods are awesome and there are less fat people which is a huge bonus but you can feel a huge sense of things are gonna fall off a cliff soon and it is all unsustainable.
European political-economy does not work with energy costs this high. Their entire model breaks.
It’s warm out. No rush.
Do you know Europeans well enough to ask them what percentage of their salary is going to energy? Didn’t think so or you wouldn’t be so damn flippant
How much?
My family spent 900 euros a month for heat last winter just on tension run up- in a country with an avg salary of 1200 euros. This winter heating their home will exceed the average salary. Plus electric plus fuel plus inflation run up.

I am from Europe and my family and many friends are all there, in various countries. Hoping to finally go back to normal after two years or covid, they are livid at Putin and Russia, which is clearly the aggressor. Energy costs are unbearable and this winter will be beyond rough, not just for homes but for businesses. Other than some sellout Putin whores like Salvini in Italy, nobody is so stupid to this this war was manufactured by the WH. Putin made a gigantic miscalculation, keeping on his track record of attacking other countries (see Georgia and the invasion of Crimea). When things did not go well in the first few weeks he started the carpet bombing of hospitals, cities, civilian shelters to inflict as much civilian pain as possible to force a surrender. Whether Europe will be able to withstand the crisis long enough to have Russia crack first I don’t know, but the public opinion in Europe has very clear who is the aggressor snd who manufactured the crisis and it was Putin

Please explain. How did the US manufacture this? I know we supported Zelensky’s presidential candidacy.
