I’m so below this thread. I would have no idea what our “net worth” is.

We go to public, but for giggles - 450k HHI, two kids, live in a very unfashionable neighborhood with a $350k mortgage at 2k per month. One nanny at 45k per year. Went to private preschool a few times a week at 15k per year. Putting away at least 30% of income for investments, 401k, 529, etc. NW - ???

750HHI, 30k tuition for elementary and our infant has a full time nanny (50k), both of which we pay ourselves.

1m HHI, 2 children in private in Chicago. Grandparents pay for school and we will inherit millions. Wouldn't say the major family wealth is the norm but there are a number of billionaire families at the top and many UMC that have grandparents paying for k-12 and college.

230K HHI, NW probably around 2 million including real estate. 2 kids in private, total tuition is about 50K, grandparents pay for it. I tell close friends this but don't otherwise advertise. It's probably somewhat obvious that we are on lower end of the scale but we are just very grateful to be able to give our kids this opportunity.

$450k HHI. One in private, one in public. Given the high cost of living the in DMV area, we look nice on paper but this combined salary doesn’t buy us as much as you would think. We don’t live in a mansion. We have a car that is paid for that is 20 years old. And we struggle to put enough money away for college given the mortgage, debts, etc.

450k HHI, two in private catholic schools (we are not catholic).

HHI $215k, mortgage is >$2000k, paid off cars. One in private elementary, grandparents help and unlike pp above folks tell us this all the time and we don't hide this if it comes up. We do, unlike pp above, take trips to Europe and other flying vacations. Life is short! Don't be silly pps! If you can afford private, you can prob afford this....but again we only have one kid so yea.

Single mom (no father or child support). HHI = $150K. Net worth about $400K. 1 child in private day school.

HHI $350K. NW $5M, built via prior employment earning more. Mortgage ~$4700. Kids in public PK through elementary. Planning to move each child to private at middle (currently applying for older one). We will be full-pay. Grandparent help has been offered but not taken at this time (keen to make our own way, but the buffer is obviously there so we are fortunate.)

Similar HHI and net worth and same. We take vacations we can drive to, no flights to Europe or fancy camps, but kid is happy and we don't feel like we're missing out.

250k + a 3rd parent at 110k who doesn't contribute.
